A Netflix Original Series!
Welcome back to Virgin River with the book that started it all…
Wanted: Midwife/nurse practitioner in Virgin River, population six hundred. Make a difference against a backdrop of towering California redwoods and crystal clear rivers. Rent-free cabin included.
When the recently widowed Melinda Monroe sees this ad, she quickly decides that the remote mountain town of Virgin River might be the perfect place to escape her heartache, and to reenergize the nursing career she loves. But her high hopes are dashed within an hour of arriving—the cabin is a dump, the roads are treacherous and the local doctor wants nothing to do with her. Realizing she’s made a huge mistake, Mel decides to leave town the following morning.
But a tiny baby abandoned on a front porch changes her plans…and former marine Jack Sheridan cements them into place.
Bonus content included! An exclusive, behind the scenes look at the filming of Season 1 of Virgin River on Netflix!
Recenzii
I put this book on-hold twice before actually finishing it. But it wasnt the book's fault - it was because I was prejudiced against it from the very beginning. I've watched the TV series and so I expected to find the same level of drama and back-and-forth in the book. Boooy was I wrong. The book was a light and sweet version of the story. Less drama, more real life. Real people with their pain and suffering and imperfections. Real problems and consequences for your choices. Once I committed to the story - I breezed right through it. Mel and Jack were complex characters - each with their own baggage - but I couldn't stop rooting for them. The writting was beautiful - being my first Robyn Carr book - and I was quite impressed. I laughed and I cried - I was completely enraptured by Virgin River. Not a bad way to escape reality. P.S. Therese Plummer is a wonderful narrator and that just made the experience that much better.
