Alexandra Joel este o scriitoare australiană care a lucrat ca editor pentru Harper’s Bazaar și pentru Portfolio, colaborând însă cu multe alte publicații notabile din țara sa, precum The Australian, Sydney Morning Herald, Good Weekend Magazine, Cleo etc. A lucrat și ca psihoterapeut și consilier, căci, după absolvirea Universității din Sydney, a finalizat și cursurile Australian College of Applied Psychology. Dintre lucrările sale amintim Parade: The Story of Fashion in Australia (1984) și Best Dressed: 200 Years of Fashion in Australia (1998), două lucrări de referință despre evoluția modei în Australia, precum și Rosetta: A Scandalous True Story (2017), romanul său de debut ale cărui drepturi de ecranizare au fost achiziționate de un important studio de producție american; The Paris Model (2020; Modelul din Paris, Nemira, 2021) și The Royal Correspondent (2021).
